DarkSkyAsia will ship all of our products to destinations within Taiwan. We offer tracked shipping by local carriers or post, depending the weight and quantity.
DarkSkyAsia is pleased to support the international astronomy community. We can ship most of our products overseas to selected areas, yet there are some restricted items that we cannot ship outside Taiwan. Some of these restrictions are complicated, so if you have any questions, please feel free to call us or send our Sales Department an e-mail: email@example.com.
DarkSkyAsia uses multiple companies to ship products internationally. Our main carrier is SF-Express. SF-Express has two international shipping options, SF Standard Express (International) (2 to 6 working days) and SF Economy Express (International) (4 to 8 working days).
Customs fees/tariffs are not included in shipping calculations and are not the responsibility of DarkSkyAsia. For these fees, please contact your local customs office.
Manufacturer Warranty does not cover international shipping costs for warranty returns. If you need to return defective product, please contact us immediately.
Export: Important Information for our customers outside from Taiwan
We should mention that VAT applicable only to customers from Taiwan, therefore our prices for customers from outside Taiwan will be reduced by the VAT (5%) throughout the checkout process. (Please note that from certain countries our prices would be already shown without VAT; in that case there will be no further reduction at the checkout…)
You may be liable for paying customs duty or/and VAT or similar taxes and fees in your country. It is your liability to make sure that the item that you ordered can be lawfully imported to your country. We would recommend to check it before you place an order.
We try to keep delivery costs as low as possible not only for the Taiwan but even for Intenational customers
Delivery for orders above NTD 6,000 (~USD 195.00) is FREE of charge for Taiwan delivery addresses for nearly all products now with few exclusions.
There is a surcharge to some destinations even if otherwise delivery would be free, e.g. Kinmen, Matsu, Penghu, Green Island, Lanyu, Xiao Liuqiu..
Accuracy of Delivery Charges
The delivery fees that we charge are correct for 99% of orders but might need corrections for some directions and products due to various factors (e.g. some of the product weights and dimensions are only estimates, SF-Express and courier prices might change…). Please let us know if you are suspicious about a concrete shipping weight or shipping estimate…We do our best, but we are only human….

To find out the estimated delivery cost, after you have chosen the products you consider buying, please add them to your shopping basket (click on ADD TO CART). You can then click on CHANGE underneath DESTINATION to recalculate the cost.

Please accept that because of international agreements, some products (we cannot deliver to some countries. (e.g. Japan, Korea). We would recommend you contact us before placing an order.
3. Returns FAQ
3.1. If you wish to return your order:
You have up to 14 days after receipt of merchandise to return the product(s). Please contact DarkSkyAsia via phone or email to obtain an RET (Return Number). The refund amount will be determined after the merchandise has been inspected. See section 1 for more details.
3.2. If you received a defective product:
Please contact DarkSkyAsia via phone or email to discuss the issue. Defective products are under the domain of the manufacturer but DarkSkyAsia will aid and support in dealing with the manufacturer. See section 4 for more details.
3.3. If you received the wrong product:
Contact DarkSkyAsia via phone or email to obtain an RET number. A return label will be emailed to you. DarkSkyAsia will ship the correct item(s) once the incorrect items are on the way, at no additional cost to you. See section 2 for more details.
3.4. If your shipment was damaged/lost
Contact DarkSkyAsia as soon as possible to have a claim started with the shipping company. Please send photo evidence of the damaged product to DarkSkyAsia. We will always do our best to replace damaged goods as quickly as possible, but the proper procedures must be followed to receive the replacement goods at no charge. See section 3 for more details.
4. Return Policies
DarkSkyAsia wants you to be fully satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return the item(s) for a full refund, less shipping and handling fees. Please read the details below for more information.
Section 1 – Standard Return
DarkSkyAsia customers may return merchandise purchased from DarkSkyAsia up to fourteen (14) days after receipt of merchandise for a full refund of the purchase price. A full refund will be given provided the product is returned in new condition, complete in its original packaging, with all warranty cards, accessories, manuals, etc. included. Shipping charges will not be refunded unless the return is a result of an DarkSkyAsia error.
Some of the products we sell qualify for free shipping with purchase. In instances where free shipping products are being returned, the costs paid by DarkSkyAsia during original delivery will be deducted from the credit and/or refund resulting from the return. Additionally, DarkSkyAsia is not responsible for the costs of return shipment to our facilities. If your return relates to an initially defective product, please see section 4 below.
If you wish to return merchandise for a refund or exchange, it is required that you call or e-mail DarkSkyAsia to obtain an RET number (Return Number) beforehand. Returns without an RET number will not be accepted. This RET number must be located on the shipping label. DO NOT write or affix the RET number (or anything else!) on the product or its internal or external boxes! It is the customer’s responsibility to make sure the merchandise is securely packaged and insured for the full purchase price. DarkSkyAsia will not be held responsible for lost or damaged packages.
Returns will be processed by DarkSkyAsia as quickly as possible but may take 7-10 business days to complete (and fourteen (14) days after original date of purchase if you paid by personal check.)
You will receive an email confirmation when the refund has been made. Upon inspection, if there are any issues or questions regarding the condition of the returned product, we will notify you at that time.
Any merchandise that does not arrive in new condition will be subject to a minimum 10% restocking fee. Missing parts, packaging, instructions, warranty cards, etc., as well as damage or other detrimental effects to merchandise, will result in higher restocking fees. Restocking fees will be determined by DarkSkyAsia after inspecting the merchandise.
To avoid damage to the manufacturer’s original, labeled packaging (which will affect credit/refund value), customers must outer-box the merchandise they are returning to DarkSkyAsia. Please do not write, place labels or stickers on the manufacturer’s original packaging. If the product was not outer-boxed by DarkSkyAsia when shipping to you, as is sometimes the case with larger merchandise, this requirement does not apply; but in this case, please do not write upon or otherwise mark the original packaging, other than with the return-shipping label.
Returns will not be accepted after 14 days without prior approval from DarkSkyAsia management. DarkSkyAsia will work with customers who have special circumstances, especially regarding gifts, but reserves the right to refuse returns after fourteen (14) days has elapsed.
In special circumstances, DarkSkyAsia may accept a return that falls outside of the fourteen (14) day return policy. For these instances, a refund will be issued in the form of a nonrefundable credit on account. The credit cannot be cashed out.
Section 2 – DarkSkyAsia Shipping Error
In the unlikely event that you receive the wrong item(s) from DarkSkyAsia, please contact us by phone or e-mail and obtain a RET number. DarkSkyAsia will email you a return shipping label, and we will ship the correct item(s) to you at no additional cost. The customer will never pay additional shipping if DarkSkyAsia is at fault.
Section 3 – Product Damaged in Shipment
Customers should always inspect packages and their contents as soon as possible after delivery. If there are any shipping damages, the customer must report the damage immediately to the carrier of the package (UPS, USPS, etc.). The carrier will arrange to inspect the package and return the box and its contents to DarkSkyAsia. We will send a replacement as soon as we have confirmation that the damaged order is on its way back to DarkSkyAsia.
Customers should NEVER send damaged merchandise directly back to DarkSkyAsia (or anywhere else!). If this happens, DarkSkyAsia will not be able to collect insurance on the damaged goods and DarkSkyAsia will not accept the returned merchandise. We will always do our best to replace damaged goods as quickly as possible, but the customer must follow the proper procedures to receive the replacement merchandise at no charge.
Section 4 – Defective Merchandise
If you receive an item you believe to be defective, please contact DarkSkyAsia via phone or e-mail and we will discuss the problem with you. We will do our best to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. Defective products are under the domain of the manufacturer yet DarkSkyAsia will aid and support in dealing with the manufacturer. The various manufacturers have different methods of handling defective products, but legally they are required to repair or replace the item in a reasonable amount of time. Standard return policy (Section 1) applies if the item is returned for a refund.
Section 5 – International Returns
Due to the nature of shipping products to internationally, the end user is responsible for all shipping charges, including (but not limited to):

– Warranty Services
